My Lasik Experience

Now that my eyes feel well enough healed, I feel it's time to share my lasik experience.

I went in for my consultation on the 26th of November. It was just like a normal eye check up, when they do the "which one is better, 1.....or 2?" test. They did numb my eyes to do another test where they added this yellow liquid from a small bottle, just to make sure I didn't have any handicaps [disease/disorders] that would prevent me from having the surgery. I was good to go!

I came back on the 29th to get my eyes dilated, to ensure that the insides of my eyes were fine. Good to go again. Also, they suggested to wear those sunglass things. I wore them for a moment, but my eyes were actually fine without them.

Surgery Day
December 2nd rolled around, and it was time to go in for surgery. I arrived with my mom on time, and got prepped for surgery. They took me into the exam [?] room just to double check my eyes were still ready for the lasers. Once they checked, they numbed my eyeballs, gave me a valium, and had me wait on some comfy recliners for just a moment until I went into the surgery room.

The room was very white and very clean. There was a table, a large machine with two "arms", two doctors...and I don't really remember anything else. I feel like there were computers *shrugs*. They laid me down on the bed/table, and handed me a stuffed pooh bear. They then covered me in a blanket. The rooms tend to be cold, but I'd already come in with my jacket. The added blanket didn't do any harm, though. They covered my left eye to begin on the right. They then taped the lids of my right eye back, and had me under the the incision maker.

This part of the procedure did freak me out mentally. I believe it's because I'm not used to seeing things like this coming towards my eye. I mean, yes, I put in contacts. My eyes aren't usually looking directly at the contact though. There was no pain, but definitely pressure when the suction cup looking thing came down onto my eyeball. Once the cut was made, they moved me over to the other arm. This is where the lasers live. There were red dots and one green dot. They told me to look at the green dot, and the fixing had begun. I was reassured countless times that everything was going perfect and was looking good.

Now onto the left eye. They covered the right, and did the same "getting ready" to my left. Tape, incision, lasers. Now since I'd already had this done to my right eye, the left felt a little more cautious. The pressure was a bit more, and I couldn't keep it as still. I think it was just ready to go. But we got through the lasers, and now it was time to look at the clock at the wall...

I could see it! With no help from lenses, just my own two eyeballs. It was amazing, when usually I can only see as far as my hand...and that even gets a little blurry. Right after the clock, it was time to shut them again. I was led out to my mom who helped me out of the office, back home, and right into bed. I went right to sleep for what seemed like 6 hours. I woke up to my mom setting my eyedrops together, and marking their dosages on the box for me [oh I love her so]. We did a couple of drops, and then she was on her way.

Check Up #1
The next day, I went in to get a check up to ensure everything's healing up fine enough. I had a couple bruises on my right eye, and my left why was almost completely encircled in a bloody bruise. I swear I looked like a demon child, or like I'd gotten beat up [with no actual black eye lol]. They didnt even mention the bruising, and said that everything was looking fine. Reminded me to get my drops in, and sent me on my way.

Check Up #2
A week later, I went back in for another check up. Everything still looking fine. The bruising is starting to heal, and my eyes looking less spooky. I had to do the steroid drop a couple more days, due to not using it properly the whole time...was supposed to shake it up. It was the one with the steroid in it. That's why the demon eye healing took longer than expected, but still worked. Just not to the best of it's ability.

I'm currently waiting for my 3rd check-up at the end of this month. My experience has been wonderful, even through the spookiness. I did dislike having to keep up with 4 different eye drops, but that did only last for 7 days. I do still use the rewetting drops every once in a while, just when my eyes feel dryer than usual. For this month, I'm still being cautious with my eyes and have yet to put on any eyeliner. I can;t wait to do that again lol. If you are debating about getting the surgery yourself...I say...GO FOR IT. I feel that a weight I never knew was there has been completely lifted. I don't have to worry about keeping my contacts in for too long, or finding where my glasses have hidden themselves. I just wake up, open my eyes, and go on with my day.

Candysan nom-noms

The way to my heart is through my tummy, and I needed some self love. Candysan was there to assist with open arms. Guiding me through their candy coated pathways of sweet justice, alluring me with their crisp chips of many flavors...enough of that.

I got my hands on some mighty tasty pieces. A couple of them were repurchases, but we still have plenty new faces. Candysan was even kind enough to include two freebie candies in this package, as well.
Yaokin Pack Medium
Baumkuchen Chocolate
Tyrant Habanero Pizza
8x Umaibo Premium Mozzarella & Camembert
Halloween Bag-o-Bones Cheetos
Fettuccine Ginger Ale
Halloween Drink Kit
5x Oppai Gummy

You know I've already sunk my teeth into some of these goodies. I have, so far, absorbed the Tyrant habanero pizza crisps into my being, and chomped down on two of the Umaibo sticks.

I'd repurchased the Umaibo sticks in abundance with this order, as well as the Baumkuchen! The fella and I ended up really enjoying those bits from the last order. I also picked a larger Yaokin pack to try out this time.
A pack of goodies within a pack of goodies!
Goodieception *snort*

The snacks included is the main difference between the small and medium Yaokin packs. You receive the same amount of goodies, but it feels like they may be a bit larger portions in this pack. Only one treat was repeated in this pack from the small. I can't wait to gobble these up.

Thanks for reading!
Am I the only fatass who can't help but buy snacks?

Black Friday - Cyber Monday Purchases

And thus, the super sales shopping has completed!
This year, life things were more important than all the deals. I did still get myself a few indulgences, as well as added to gifts already purchased for peoples on my "to get" list for Christmas. Here are the stores I perused, and the gets I got.

Friday morning, I had to wake up and work pretty dang early. I decided I didn't want to do much shopping after leaving work half exhausted. I missed a great deal at Michael's, but we wont dwell on that. I shopped at my own store, World Market, and stopped at Walmart on the way home. The only items I picked up from Walmart were carrots for my piggies [not on sale of course], and a tubber ware set. I always end up purchasing new tubber ware on black Friday.
We had amazing deals going on, with buy on get one free on just about everything in store.
Items along with their deals
- 4x Advent Calendars
bought two at 1.49ea, received two free
- Pashmina Scarf and Yoga Mat Bag
bought pashima scarf, received ymb free
- 3x baskets
3.99ea + 50% off
- Paw Print Ice Mold
4.99 + 40% off
- 6x Revolution Tea samplers, Twinnings Winter Spice Tea, Ambessa Safari Breakfast tea, and Large Infuser Scoop
all tea + tea accessories 50% off
- Honey sticks
no sale
-Various soaps
all personal care BOGO free
- Mini Wines
no sale
- discounted snacks [pretzels and chile con queso dip]
- Gift Card
I ended up spending about $70 in total, but the gift card was already a good chunk of that total. Luckily rewards members also received triple points during the weekend, so I acrued a good bit doing shopping for myself as well as my mom [her items unpicture/unmentioned]. Upon arriving home, I decided to start the gift wrapping process. More on that later, but I also visited one online retailer for an amazing deal.
Pop in a box was having a great sale. One I would have given into more if I had more pops I was passionate about owning. I ended up buying 4 Funko pops for $25 with free shipping included! I was the most excited of octomaidens when I checked out. I ended up getting two pops I was drooling over, as well as two pops for people on my "to-get" list.
I can be less vague about the ones I ordered for myself, haha. I pre-ordered Eleven and Joyce funko pops from the Stranger Things collection.
I'm really hoping that I don't get the chase eleven figure...not all that interested in blonde wig version in figure form.
Yet, another grueling morning of holiday shoppers. Our deals had changed for the better in some areas and for the worst in many others. A few of those bogo deals were still going on, while some holiday themed snacks were put on sale. I picked up 2 packages of Lebkuchen, another mini bottle of wine for my fella's Gammy [Cavit Riesling], and two mini candles. The Lebkuchen were 20% off, and one was devoured as soon as I made it home. The candles were buy one get one free, so I'd chosen a Eucalyptus mint scented one, and a clementine and honey scent. If they weren't the last of their scent, I would have purchased a couple more. No photos for saturday, so full frontal imagination needed.
Welcome back to "Gruel Days". Yep, back to early morning work. So many deals taken away, none of the sales emails catching my eye. No money spent, and time to get some much needed shut eye.
Monday, cyber monday. When all the online retailers are like, "hey, look at me!" I did have to face the most grueling of days this morning, but came home to some pretty decent deals. I still had to watch my spending, but ended up with some goodies nonetheless.
I began my voyage on Old Navy's website since they were offering 50% off everything as well as free shipping on orders over $50.
I didn't plan on spending $50, nor did I think I added that amount into my cart, but I still somehow ended up with free shipping. I think that it counts your cart's total before discounts are applied. Anyways, I picked up two long sleeve shirts, and a pair of jeans for my fella. I had a giftcard [$25] as well, so ended up paying $10 for the 3 items. I almost forgot! They were also offering a free pair of fuzzy socks with every order.
Cute puppies deserve to cuddle my tootsies!

I then made my way to Oyatsucafe to see what treats and possible sales they had to offer me and my tummy.
Again, not trying to spend too much. I added $10 worth of noms to my cart, and took advantage of the 10% off discount code. I found 5 items that looked apealing, and was happy to find they offered a snack that I enjoyed and had been discontinued on another site. I've never ordered with OC before, and hope this to be a lovely experience. You know I can't wait to get my snacks o.o. My tummy and tastebuds are already trying to decide which items they want to try first.
Lastly, I found myself on Candysan. It made sense since I'd just made a purchase on Oyatsu cafe, and now had snacks on the brain.

Sadly, candysan hadn't been doing any sales the whole weekend. They were, however, offering a "Discovery Pack" seemingly full of wonderful mystery.
It's set up to be surprise style, and they include 3 candies and a gashapon. I decided to order 4 since I had a couple discounts to use. It seems that with the mystery packs, they allow you to have free shipping on economy SAL. I can wait that 3 weeks...totally.

Thus concludes my Black Friday/Cyber Monday rundown. Like I stated earlier, I already started and finsihed most of my wrapping. I'm just semi-patiently waiting for the rest of my orders come in the mail, so I can be 100% wrapped up shawty.

I love gift giving holidays!

🌟 Blippo Kawaii |Experience & Review|🌟

Order Start: 10.24.16
Complete: 11.14.16

I'd made my first purchase with Blippo last month. Apparently, I signed up to receive their emails, and happened across a "SALE" email in my inbox. Since I have slacked all the way up on using my Kawaii items, I hadn't really been purchasing anything to add to my current collection. I have a plan/resolution for this coming year, so I decided to see what the sale had to offer. I did end up finding a couple different items I thought I'd enjoy.

🌟 Items Ordered🌟

My total came to a womping $5.16. Even though I felt that I ordered so little, Blippo was still kind enough to include a freebie with my package!

Funny thing is, I was checking these guys out while I was ordering. I decided not to get them, but ended up receiving them anyways. Anpanman, your destiny was to be devoured by an octomaid named Starfish!
Haha, ok teeny bit spooky. Back to the order...
I've yet to try any of the edible items, and yet to lace up some shoes with them polka'd beauties. I have tried out my adorably pom pom'd pen, though. Contrary to popular belief, it's black ink. Not that I assumed it was a light blue. I'm sure I read that it was black ink before deciding on it. It's fine tipped, and writes wonderfully.

Unboxing Video

So very pleased with my full purchase! You may be thinking, "but shipping took so long to get to you, how are you possibly pleased". Usually, you'd be completely fine thinking that way. In this situation, you are incorrect! I actually chose the 1-3 weeks Free shipping option when I finalized my order. I often don't mind waiting longer for things, when there's a "free shipping" option. Retailers get extra points from me for even having it available. It looks like it took exactly 3 weeks to get to me with free shipping.

I appreciate how nicely my box turned up, as well as how the journey treated my goodies within. Nothing came damaged or out of place. Overall I had a wonderful experience, and am already contemplating what bits and bobs I'll be adding to my next order.

That's right, a perfect 5 star rating! I'm not promising all orders will be as smooth as mine, nor that you will find items that you yourself can say you'd enjoy. I can promise that my personal experience with blippo has been a good one...if you couldn't already tell from reading, heh.

Not ONE book??

How could I have almost gone a WHOLE year without reading one single book? How did it come to this?! How did it get this bad?!?

I happened to check out, since I hadn't been on there in so long. It's a glorious website for booklovers of all kinds. You can keep lists of books you'd like to read, are currently reading, and have read. Every year, they have this "Reading Challenge" in which you pick a number of books you want to have read by the end of the year. For this year, apparently, I picked 50. Thought I was giving myself a break...apparently not because it seems as though I have only finished one book this whole year.

Not to say I hadn't started reading books...I just never finish them. *Sigh*. This is so depressing. Only means I have to work harder for next year *determined face*. I wont give up entirely this year either, though. I have plenty of books to get through, and have purchased a couple interesting ones from Goodwill the other day! I also picked one up from Barnes and Noble on the way home, which is the ONE I've finished...all year.

Fragments of Horror by Junji Ito
Feeling Good by David D. Burns, M.D.
Eat Me by Linda Jaivin
Fragments of horror wasn't as spooky as some of Ito's other works, but it was still a pretty good read. There was a little bit of confusion with the twists and turns that the short stories portrayed, but all in all they were each eerie enough on their own. A couple had me at the edge of my seat. I recommend it if you enjoy reading disturbing psychological manga. I can't wait to start reading the other two! What a mix of literature.

Thanks for reading...while I get to reading.
What's on your to read list?
Finished any good books this year?

The Mundane Psyche of a Cheerless Octomaid

I have come to a conclusion [theory] about one of my day-to-day stresses.

I like to break down what it is I could be stressing over, and try to find a starting point. It makes it easier for me to cope with the negative feelings I may be feeling at the time. The fact that I have been on this earth for 24 years, and have taken in a lot of knowledge, has seemed hindered my mood. Not because I'm learning things, but because all knowledge isn't that of a positive nature. I get down a good bit. I start feeling like my days are just a repeat, and there's nothing new to experience. My mind is focused on the repeat bad things, and not much fixated on the positivity the world has to offer me. It leads me to that stationery couch potato state.
It's all a facade and I should know that! There are plenty of places I've yet to visit, meals I've yet to taste, things I've yet to do. I'm trying to work on that not being my mindset. There was a point in my teens where I was able to wipe the stresses down and off of me, and let the experiences in. It was easier with less financial responsibility, as well as having more "down time" in my life to give to things. As long as I stay adamant with my intention being to enjoy life [more], I should be able to get back to a more balanced state. Can't let the stress prevail.

Thank you for reading!
